Content Terms

We gather information about pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding here for one simple reason - to put what the recognised health bodies say in one place, in language that is easy to read.

The terms below cover that free content. They are separate from the terms that cover a purchase from us, which live in the shop terms.

We wrote them the way we write everything else: plainly, and with no small print.

1. The content is offered as-is

Everything here is general information, put together carefully and in good faith - but we can't promise it's complete, current, or free of mistakes. Guidance changes, and a quote is accurate only as of the date shown beside it. We offer this content as-is, without warranties as to its accuracy, completeness, or currency.

2. We're not your doctor, and reading this doesn't make us one

Nothing here is medical, nursing, psychological, nutritional, or halachic advice. Reading this site, or writing to us, does not create a doctor–patient relationship, a practitioner–patient relationship, or any professional or advisory relationship between us. We are not rabbis, and nothing here is a halachic ruling (psak).

3. Please don't rely on this in place of real advice

This is a starting point, not a substitute for care from someone who knows you and your baby. Please check anything that matters with your own doctor, midwife, IBCLC lactation consultant, or rav. If something feels urgent, contact your healthcare provider or emergency services.

4. Links and quotes point to other people's work

When we quote a source, we quote it word-for-word, name it, and link to it, and the quote is faithful to the original as of the date we retrieved it. We don't control those other sites and aren't responsible for what they say or do, and their guidance can change after we've cited it. The organisations we quote keep all their own rights in their own words.

5. This content is for your own personal use

You're welcome to read, print, and share our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't republish it commercially, present it as professional or medical guidance, or strip our sources from it.

6. If your own misuse of the content causes a claim against us

This one is narrow on purpose. If you use our content in a way that breaks these terms - for example, by passing it off as your own professional advice to someone else - and that specific misuse causes a third-party claim against us, we'd ask you to cover the reasonable, direct costs that flow from your misuse. This never applies to anything we did, and it never applies to your own ordinary, personal reading of the site.

7. Limits on our liability - and the lines the law won't let us cross

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for loss that comes from relying on the free content here, and any liability we do have for the content is limited to what you paid us to access it - which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any right your local consumer-protection law gives you that can't be waived. If any part of this section goes further than the law allows, only that part is trimmed back to what's allowed; the rest stands.

8. Which law applies, and where

These content terms are governed by the law of the State of Israel. Choosing Israeli law is not meant to take away the protection of any rules that can't be contracted away under the law of the country you live in - including, for readers in the United States, the EU, or the UK, the mandatory protections of your own consumer-protection law. Wherever you're entitled to bring a matter before your local courts, nothing here is meant to stop you.

9. We update things, and we fix our mistakes

We may update this content and these terms as guidance changes or as we improve the site; the version on this page is the current one. When we get something wrong and you tell us, we'll correct it and note the correction. We'll post any material change to these terms on this page, and a change never applies backwards to something that already happened.

For readers in the United States

The choice of Israeli law in section 8 is not intended to deprive you of protections that United States consumer-protection law may give you and that cannot be waived.

Our products are not covered by these Content Terms

These Content Terms are about the free information on this site. Buying a bra is a separate transaction under our Store Terms. Yael & Michal sells nursing bras, which are comfort garments and not medical devices; we do not claim they prevent, treat, or cure any medical condition.

About product warranties (a note for US buyers)

This belongs to the Store Terms, not to the content, and we flag it here only so nothing is unclear. Any limitation on a product warranty or on liability for a bra you buy is set out in the Store Terms, and it does not, and is not intended to, limit:

• liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence;
• liability for fraud;
• the implied warranty of merchantability except as, and only to the extent, allowed by your state's law (some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of these limits may not apply to you); or
• any non-waivable right you have under federal or state consumer law, including the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act where it applies.

No FDA disclaimer

We deliberately do not carry the dietary-supplement statement "not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease." That statement is a supplement-labeling requirement and does not apply to a garment. Adding it could wrongly imply the bra is an ingestible supplement.
